This 13 day trip includes a 6 day trek in the spectaular Dagala Lake region.

The Dagala mountain range divides the two prominent valleys of Thimphu and Wangdi. The altitude of the plateau is around 4000 metres and is a popular grazing ground for yaks in summer.

There is an abundance of flora and fauna with alpine flowers, rhododendrons, and many different species of pheasants, musk deer. The beautiful sparkling lakes in this region are known for trout and provide a scenic background to your trek and overnight camps


Day 1. Arrive Paro
You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel

Day 2. Paro sightseeing
Sightseeing tour includes Drukgyel Dzong, Kyichu Khakhang, an ancient watchtower which is the national museum and the grounds of Bhutan’s national sport, archery

Day 3. Paro to Thimphu
After breakfast you will drive to Thimphu for a day of sightseeing which includes amongst many highlights, the National Memorial Chorten, the National Library and the Traditional Medicine Institute

Day 4. Thimphu Sightseeing
Further sightseeing in Thimphu including the Folk Heritage Museum, the Textile Museum, the “hand made paper” factory and see silversmiths at work

Day 5. Thimphu to start of trek Today you will be driven approx 40 kms to the beginning of your 6 day trek

Days 6 – 9 Trek

Day 10. Last day of trek –return to Thimphu
You trek to Simtokha where you will be transferred by vehicle to Thimphu

Day 11. Thimphu
Rest day or optional sightseeing

Day 12. Drive to Paro  for excursion to Taktsang Monastery

Day 13. Paro departure
Early morning transfer to airport for international departure.
